These micro wind turbines are much tougher than their size would lead you to believe. They have been tested in winds over 50mph and they just keep putting out more power.

This is a new mini-micro medium-high speed wind turbine generator. It was designed to produce a maximum of 18vdc and 1 amp in perfect test conditions. You may or may not see the same results in the real world due to variations in installation, wind and many other variables.
This turbine starts turning in lower winds and will charge AA and AAA batteries very well in 10-12 mph winds. It will also run lower voltage LED's in lower winds. You can charge 6 volt batteries in 15-18 mph winds. Charging 12v batteries requires 20+ mph winds. I have run this little turbine in 45-50 mph winds.
This turbine is a great compliment to your solar panels and in decent winds will trickle charge your battery.
This is a medium-high speed wind turbine. Excessive wind can damage this turbine as it can ALL micro turbines.
The turbine is very compact, measuring about 9" long and utilizes a 2-blade plastic prop that is 10" long.
The modular design makes for a very light and compact micro turbine. Assembly of this turbine takes an average person about 30 seconds.
The modular motor housing, tail fin bracket, and prop hub are comprised of state of the art polymer. This turbine was designed in AutoCad and manufactured by state of the art CNC machines. The downtube is made from .730" round tubing. The tailfin is made from white plastic.
The turbine weighs about 14 ounces.
A suitable blocking diode is already installed.
A suitable pole with a .750" I.D. is needed to mount the turbine.
Your wiring (14 gauge for runs up to 50 feet) should be run from your battery, up through the pole and then to the turbine .
If you leave 24" of slack in the wire at the bottom of the pole wire twisting is normally not a problem.
The turbine is professionally packaged to avoid damage during transit. We use 100% recycled packing material exclusively.
Each and every one of these turbines is assembled and tested for both function and output before boxing.
